Blog ideas & summer plans
A place to dump the things I keep meaning to write. Some of these will become real posts; some will quietly wither. That’s the point of a garden.
The summer
The plan for the next few months is mostly one big thread: rewriting open-ttp in Go, running the trajectory sims through an adapted isentropic-flow model, and then comes the ambitious part - building the whole thing into an actual avionics bay. Hardware. Solder. Things that can catch fire.
I want to document this properly rather than as a single triumphant write-up at the end, so expect a dev-log series in the style of the NSSC day-one / day-two posts.
Things I want to write
- Why I’m rewriting open-ttp in Go - the kickoff post. What’s wrong with the current version, why Go, and what “good” looks like by September.
- Adapting an isentropic-flow repo for trajectory sims - the physics, and the unglamorous reality of bending someone else’s code to a purpose it was never meant for.
- From sim to silicon - turning a simulation into an avionics bay. This is the one I’m most nervous about and therefore most want to write.
- A follow-up to On IRC - less history, more “here’s how I actually use it day to day in 2026.”
- How the activity feed on this site works - the AT Protocol plumbing behind the little panel on the home page.
And one I’m not ready to talk about
There’s also a long-form fiction project I’ve been circling for a while. Not code - something entirely different that I write in the gaps. It’s early, it’s messy, and it may never see daylight. But it’s real, and at some point this garden note will quietly gain a link.
Consider this the tease.
